SUPER FLIGHTS, AGES 7-13
Explore the mysteries of flight with your own fabulous, light-weight paper airplanes, helicopters, kites, parachutes and more! Using paper, sticks, wood, string and a little imagination, students will design, create and test each project. Students will experiment and modify their creations to increase higher and longer acrobatic flights and document results.
Supplies: Instructor will provide all supplies. We recommend that students wear old clothing, or items they do not mind having stained to class meetings.
Cooking and Culinary Art
CAKE DECORATING, AGES 10-13
Discover a new way to add excitement to your cakes and cupcakes. This course will help you learn the basics of decorating with icing, creating borders and writing on cakes. You will see how rewarding it is to create desserts to share with your family and friends.
Supplies: We recommend that students wear old clothing, or items they do not mind having stained to class meetings.
Textbooks: No Textbook Required.
CREATIVE WRITING: SHORT STORIES, AGES 8-12
Reach beyond the confines of traditional English classes and let your imagination and creativity soar. Write fun and exciting short stories and showcase them in a class-designed and published magazine. Start next year ready to work on your school’s yearbook, literary publication or newspaper.

Drawing and Painting
PAINT CLUB, AGES 7-13
Using acrylic paint on canvas, students will learn how to paint still lifes, landscapes, cityscapes, portraits and abstracts. Explore the use of basic objects to create artwork through instruction and group interaction. No experience is necessary.
Supplies: Instructor will provide all supplies. It is recommended that students wear old clothing or items they do not mind having stained to class meetings.
FLORAL DESIGN FOR AGES 10-13
Have fun creating a variety of floral arrangements. Learn design principles and techniques, flower identification and aspects of the floral design business. Students will create headpieces, corsages and floral arrangements. Techniques will include wiring, taping, bow-making and working with floral foam.
Supplies: Instructor will provide flowers, supplies and tools. Students must bring two vases - one tall, round vase, and one 5-inch, square vase.
FUTURE LEADERS, AGES 11-14
Students will participate in leadership activities, learning what it takes to be a leader at school, at home and in the community. Engaging in various group activities will prepare them to achieve more than they thought they could. They will develop their own leadership style and ethical code. By the end of the course, students will increase their communication skills as well as learn how to set measurable goals, develop strong relationships with their peers and effectively solve problems with other teens.
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY USING PHOTOSHOP, AGES 8-12
Take your photography skills beyond the occasional vacation photo shoot. This course will cover the fundamentals of digital photography, essentials of Adobe Creative Suite 6 and the inner composition of a photo gallery. Several photography exercises, along with a final project, will be included.
Supplies: Students must have a digital camera, preferably a DSLR, or a point-and-shoot with a manual settings option. Students must bring and be responsible for their own batteries, memory cards, thumb drives, and USB cord for their camera.
MY QUILT, MY WAY! AGES 7-13
Students collect and assemble colorful fabric shapes to make a 9 inch x 12 inch quilt sampler. Instructor provides step-by-step instructions on basic, straight, blanket and whip stitches. Young quilters will select from a variety of textured, shimmery embellishments for the finishing touch of their mini-masterpiece.

SAT/ACT TEST PREPARATION, JUNIORS AND SENIORS ONLY
In this course students will learn many ways to maximize their score, including making educated guesses, reducing difficult math questions to common sense mathematics, mastering frequently used vocabulary words and scoring more points in less time.
FINDING YOUR INNER HERO FOR GIRLS, AGES 11-14
Students will participate in a variety of leadership, empowerment and role playing exercises to increase their “Girl Power.” Explore current images, stereotypes, culture, perception and how girls are represented in the media. By the end of this course, students will identify and define personal objectives, establish goals and execute an action plan to take ownership of their Inner Hero.
DIVERSE WOMEN OF STEM FOR GIRLS, GRADES 9-12
This is a 2-week summer program created to inspire underrepresented women to reach their full potential in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) through peer and professional mentorship, skill building, educational planning, networking, and career exploration.
Activities Include: Interactive STEM activities, university and industry tours, presentations from distinguished women in STEM, professional and peer mentorship and networking opportunities, and undergraduate and graduate educational planning.
